How can I file suit against Bank of America for wrongful foreclosure?
In August my fiance and I bought our first home, a week later we came home to find our locks had been changed on us. Through much investigation we discovered that Bank of America ordered the locks changed because according to them they had no record of us buying the house and it had gone into foreclosure. We had to get the local news channel involved before the bank would even acknowledge us or that anything had happened.
I've been hearing stories of this happening to other people as well and have been trying to figure out what legal actions we can take against the bank and if there are other people looking to file suit against Bank of America as well. So far I have found many reports online of others that have had similar things happen to them and are filing suit on their own, but no information about groups of people filing a large suit together. I know I could hire a lawyer to fight them, but I can't afford one, especially one with the experience to take on such a large company.
If anyone else has had this happen to them and are taking action I would appreciate any advise you can give me on how you handling it.
