Does anyone out there know the answer???? I filed BK back in 2004 and kept the house....well we were behind so we set up a payment plan our mortgage is 1200/mth we were paying almost 1700/mth during this plan after the repayment was over I still ended up being a month behind. For every month I am late I get a $50.00 late payment fee. The fee is up to 1,100 dollars and there is no relief in sight. I don't have an extra 1,200 to catch up. Can they just keep charging me for late payment fees or is there any cap on it? If I can't catch up my behind month how do they expect me to pay another 1,000 + in late fees? I have contacted GMAC and until I am officially two months behind they won't do anything but send me a demand letter. I have asked about my options and they just tell me to pay it when I can. Could this be some type of consumer abuse? The problem?? The late fee is getting bigger and bigger every month!!!! HELP!!!!!
